In 1984 my mom and grandma started making this danish recipe that they found in a McCall’s cooking school magazine. Originally, it was filled with an almond paste, but my mom, with her wisdom and creativity decided to make a few tweaks to the recipe and do more than just an almond filling. Of course, being from Texas, you have to have a pecan filling! The creativity continued, and today we have various fillings for you to enjoy with your friends and family.
This quickly became a family Christmas tradition, and we simply could not keep it to ourselves. So we bring our tradition to you! Many have asked me what this tastes like, and the best way I can describe this tender, flaky, goodness, is to imagine a cinnamon roll and a croissant having a baby!
